Call Meeting to Order
The meeting was called to order by Shirley Wayne Washington.

B. Approval of Agenda

Ann Tramontana requested that “Subcommittee Reports” and “Old Business” be added to the Agenda. Bob Spirito made a motion to approve with the additions; Mary Blair seconded; approved unanimously.

C. Approval of Minutes

Motion made by Bob Spirito to accept the minutes; seconded by Ann Tramontana; approved unanimously.

D. Coordinator Presentations

Motion made by Bob Spirito to accept the Coordinator’s Report; seconded by Barbara Carroll; approved unanimously.

F. Subcommittee Reports

Bylaws - Bill Bixby has joined the committee, which currently consists of Bob Spirito and Ann Tramontana. Ann Tramontana indicated that the subcommittee will meet in October and report in November.

G. Old Business

Ann Tramontana initiated discussion about a CRB response to the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) report. Ann made a request for the full version; Barbara Carroll provided her with a copy. Shirley Wayne Washington indicated that those persons who attended the previous meetings were given copies, and the expectation is that copies would be available at the PERF public hearing scheduled for this evening at 7 o’clock at Career High School. Shirley noted that in addition to tonight’s meeting, another public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18th, at 7:00 p.m. at Grant-Wexler School. Also, a meeting of the Independent Accountability Panel (IAP) is scheduled for September 25th.

There was general discussion by the group, and the consensus is that the Civilian Review Board group members will provide written comments to the Coordinator on Monday, September 17th, before 12 noon. Concurrently, each member with e-mail capabilities is to send his/her comments to each other. The Coordinator will make arrangements to receive the comments from those persons who do not have e-mail. The Coordinator will forward all received comments to the group members on Tuesday, September 18th, before noon.

A Special Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. for CRB group discussion on the PERF report. This meeting is to be chaired by Evelise Ribeiro.

Lieutenant Joann Peterson, OIC, IVE, stated that between August 4th - September 10th , 27 new case numbers were assigned and that as of September 10th, there were a total of 108 cases with 48 open and 60 closed. Lieutenant Peterson provided an updated detailed report during Executive Session.
